  REVIEW:

When you look at the long list of movie titles derived college cheers, We Are Marshall may be the least creative, but you just can’t judge a movie by its title!

A very powerful movie about a true story.  In 1970 a plane carrying 75 passengers from the Marshall University football team, coaches and fans crashed and killed everyone on board.  The movie is the heart-wrenching journey of a town torn to pieces trying to find their way back to some kind of normal life.  Matthew Mcconaughey plays Jack Lengyle who came from another town to coach and put back together the team that was lost.  Matthew Fox plays Red Dawson, the only coach from the team that wasn’t killed because he went off on a recruiting trip rather than getting on the plane with the team.  Everyone has to face their demons in their own way to find that life can and has to go on.

We Are Marshall is a very authentic, very genuine portrayal of a tragic and profound human experience . . . while being funny, entertaining, and inspiring at the same time.  It’s truly a masterpiece that perfectly blends the idea of healing with a plot of horrifying events.  The acting, casting, and dialogue are superb, especially so with Matthew McConoughey who excels even without removing his shirt!  We Are Marshall is a tearful, yet extraordinary and immensely enjoyable film that shows the amazing power and strength of human perseverance.
